NJAC 8:50, Standards for Indoor Environment Certification and for Licensure of Indoor Environmental Consultants, establishes standards for the licensing of consultants who conduct Indoor Environmental Health Assessments (IEHAs) in child care centers and educational facilities. Among other things, the license application requires a non-refundable $2,000 application fee and proof of state issued credentials in Asbestos, Lead and Radon.
Penalties for conducting an IEHA without a license can be as high as $25,000 per day for a first offense.
